State House Candidate Terri Proud Tours Jail With Sheriff Paul Babeu
Terri Proud, Republican candidate for State House of Representatives in District 26, toured the Pinal County jail in Florence, AZ recently with Sheriff Paul Babeu.
Proud was interested in learning from the Sheriff how he copes with illegal immigration and the extra stress it places upon our jail system.
Proud learned that half of the jail population consists of illegal immigrants, and about 60,000 of every 600,000 illegal immigrants who enter the United States each year come with criminal records. “Adding that criminal element to our population, it is no wonder that Arizona has the highest crime stats in America,” said Proud. “Once elected, I plan on working with the Sheriff and other law enforcement officers to find real solutions.”
Sheriff Paul later posted on Proud’s Face book page: “What a great day. Thank you so very much for showing sincere interest in the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office operations. Our 1,504 inmates Jail is the 3rd largest in Arizona. I support your election 110%. You have what it takes to be a great common sense leader at the State House.
